You can order your prescription online, via Patient Services.

If you would like to register for online services, please fill in a form at reception, and we will set an account up for you.

You can also download the form here, fill it in, and return it to reception.

Please allow 3 working days if you'd like to collect your prescription from the surgery, and an additional 5 working days if you'd like it sent to a nominated pharmacy.

You can order your prescriptions by handing in a repeat request form at the surgery.

From the surgery

If you have nominated a to collect your prescription from the surgery it will be read to collect 3 working days after you submit your request.

You do not need to phone the surgery to check the status of your prescription.

Pharmacy

From a nominated pharmacy

If you have nominated a local pharmacy your prescription will be sent there and is usually ready to collect in 5-7 days.

The surgery does not have any control on the length of time for dispensing prescriptions.

Important: We are not be able to provide repeat prescriptions on the same day

We would like to remind our patients that prescriptions are available to collect from our reception 3 working days after they are requested.  Please also allow an additional 5 days if you ask for your prescription to be sent to a local pharmacy.

If you need your medication before this your request will be considered by a GP, and if necessary, they will generate a prescription.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:

  • phone our pharmacist after 10am.
  • fill in our medication query form.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
