Important: changes to our website from 1 August 2026
We're moving to a new website. Ordering repeat prescriptions is not affected. Some online forms are changing too.
Important changes to our website and online forms
From 1 August 2026, Eastfield Medical Practice is moving to a new website. This is because our current website platform is closing at the end of July 2026.
Here's what you need to know.
Ordering your repeat prescriptions is not affected
You'll still be able to order your repeat prescriptions in exactly the same way as you do now. Nothing is changing with prescription ordering, and there's nothing you need to do differently.
Some online forms are changing
We currently use online forms for things like:
- Requesting an extension to a sick note (fit note)
- Registering for online access to our services
We are introducing a new system called MedLink, which will take over some of these forms from 1 August 2026.
Not every form will move across straight away. For a short time, some requests will need to be made in a different way while we complete the move. Where this applies, we'll tell you how to make that request instead, for example by contacting reception.
Why isn't everything moving over at once?
We want to get this right, not just get it done quickly. Before we roll out our full, permanent online forms system, we're making sure it's:
- Fit for purpose, so it actually does what patients and staff need it to do
- Usable, so it's straightforward for patients to complete
- Accessible, so it works well for patients with different needs, including those using assistive technology
- Appropriate, so the right information is collected in the right way
Rather than move every form across at once and risk problems, we're introducing MedLink in stages. This means some forms will be available from day one, and others will follow as we finish testing and refining them.
Your privacy is protected
Our new website does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data. This is to protect patient confidentiality while we complete the move to our permanent system. You can browse the site as normal, with nothing stored or tracked.
What if I can't find the form I need?
If a form you normally use isn't available on the new website or on MedLink, please contact reception and we'll help you make your request another way.

FAQ
Why is the website changing? Our current website provider is closing at the end of July 2026, so we need to move to a new platform.
Will I need to re-register for anything? No. This change affects our website and some online forms. It does not affect your registration with the practice or your access to prescriptions.
Is my information safe? Yes. The new website does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data, so there's nothing stored about your visit.
What happens to forms that aren't on MedLink yet? For a short period, some requests will need to be made another way, such as contacting reception. We'll be clear on the website about which forms this applies to, and this will be updated as MedLink is introduced in full.
When will everything be back to normal? We're working to introduce our full, permanent online forms system as soon as it's ready. We'd rather take a bit longer to get it right than roll something out that doesn't work well for patients.
